Last night saw the launch of the NEW BALANCE LONDON FLAGSHIP STORE, and The Drop Date team were there to document the event and eat steak pies.
The huge new London store occupies three floors and is located at 287 – 291 Oxford Street, offering a mix of performance and lifestyle products for both men and women. The brand went all out for the launch event; refreshments and music flowed freely, while models were dotted around the store as living mannequins amongst the displays of footwear and apparel. Guests were issued with futuristic-looking wristbands which burst into life and flashed with different colours in time to the music, as the lights went down and the space was overtaken by a choreographed dance performance. All in all, this felt more like a party in the hedonistic heyday of 1980s New York than just your run-of-the-mill store launch.
The guests sported an impressive range of New Balance bangers to rival the offerings on display, but the real footwear star of the night was the extremely limited ‘London Cab’ pack of 1500s and 991s created especially for the launch, with only 130 pairs of each style in existence. Take a look at the party images below, plus some shots by @newbalance_gallery ‘s Thomas Lindie of the NB ‘London Cab’ 1500s against the East London skyline, and click on the banner to shop the latest releases from the brand…
