The ADIDAS ORIGINALS ARCHIVE MUNCHEN – SIZE? EXCLUSIVE is the next addition to the Size? adidas Originals Archive collection. This twin-pack release sits perfectly within the classic City Series: the base model was only ever produced in Japan, until being brought back as part of Gary Aspden’s excellent Spezial project last year. Let’s take a closer look…
The first pair from the pack is the White and Navy option. Constructed in a deluxe soft white suede, the premium underlay sits underneath high quality navy leather hits on the three stripes and backtab. If the colour scheme looks familiar, you might want to refer back to a previous collaboration release with one of the Gallagher siblings from a few years back… The second pair from the duo is the Purple & Solar Yellow option: a more vibrant palette to its companion shoe. With the same material selection as the white pair, this colourway takes inspiration from the Japanese manufactured Athens from 1990 – a bold palette that translates onto the Munchen silhouette perfectly.
Both colourways in the pack sit atop a dark opaque gum handball midsole: a tooling mold that you may recognise from the Handball Spezial model. Premium gold branding is embossed into the tongue with Munchen labelling across the lateral side. These finishing flourishes have featured previously on some of the most iconic releases to come out of the adidas City Series collection and are the perfect sign-off on this pack.
The ADIDAS ORIGINALS ARCHIVE MUNCHEN – SIZE? EXCLUSIVE is releasing in two drops: the White & Navy pair drops online on TUESDAY 31 MAY with the Purple & Solar Yellow colourway following online on MONDAY 6 JUNE, both exclusively at SIZE?.
