The Protection Pack was one of New Balance’s most popular releases in recent years, originally dropping in 2021 with the colourways ‘Phantom Black’, ‘Rain Cloud’, and ‘Sea Salt’. Now, in 2025, the design returns again with a fresh take on the concept. The signature torn-out upper is back, but this time it’s fully winter- and autumn-ready thanks to GORE-TEX® materials.
From 6 October 2025, the New Balance 2002DX Protection Pack GORE-TEX® will be available in the new colourways ‘Shipyard’, ‘Black’, and ‘White Reflection’.

The New Balance 2002DX Protection Pack GORE-TEX® combines the worn and torn elements we know and love from the Protection Pack style with materials like mesh, suede, GORE-TEX, and leather for a truly standout look. As with previous releases, the Shipyard, Black, and White colourways feature distressed details and monochrome palettes.
What makes this drop special is, for sure, the GORE-TEX upper, which makes the styles waterproof while still remaining breathable.
