Step aside, classic dress shoes. there’s a new hybrid in town. This Air Max RK61 Dress Shoe is the result of a Nike collab with Paris-based label Air Afrique, inspired by the legendary Pan-African airline. In a sneaker world where sneakers currently are constantly blurring the lines between sporty and smart, this one lands perfectly: part loafer, part sneaker, all cult.
Stylish enough for the office, functional enough for your weekend, and just a little bit unexpected!
The Air Max RK61 blends early-2000s Air Max vibes with traditional African moccasin design. Leather panels, a zip-over-lace setup, and Air Afrique’s signature jacquard lining give the shoe a sleek, cultured look. For now, it comes in a beige and a black colourway.
Sitting on a brand-new, dress-shoe-inspired Air Max sole, complete with green Air units referencing jet engines, this sneaker is equal parts style and story. A special detail: the Morse code along the outsole that spells out “Air Afrique”. The name of the model, RK61, references the airline’s original flight code and its founding year.
The Air Afrique x Nike Air Max RK61 drops in two colourways: Beige and Black. Both release globally on 9 October 2025 via Nike and select retailers.
