After months of rumour and speculation, the first glimpse of the highly anticipated Cactus Plant Flea Market x Nike Swamp Sponge Dunk has finally surfaced—thanks to rapper and sneaker connoisseur Lil Yachty. Known for getting his hands on exclusive drops well before the public, Lil Yachty revealed three new Dunk colourways in a set of casual, behind-the-scenes images that have since set the sneaker world buzzing.
The photos show the sneakers piled haphazardly, an oddly fitting presentation for a brand as unconventional as Cactus Plant Flea Market (CPFM). Though the display may seem chaotic, it offers a clear peek into what CPFM and Nike have been cooking up: a bold, textured, and thoroughly unorthodox take on the classic Dunk silhouette.
This latest project builds upon the 2019 ‘Sponge By You’ Blazer, where CPFM first played with sponge-like aesthetics. However, the Swamp Sponge Dunk takes things a step further, embracing exaggerated foam overlays that evoke the look and feel of a soaking wet sponge. The result is both bizarre and brilliant.
True to CPFM’s off-kilter visual language, the Dunks feature a mash-up of materials, including mesh, corduroy, and fuzzy, almost hairy textures that lend the shoes an experimental and handcrafted look. Each of the three colourways is loud, layered, and deliberately unrefined, a signature of CPFM’s unpredictable design ethos.
While the exact names and themes behind each colourway remain under wraps, they appear to follow CPFM’s usual palette of earthy tones mixed with vibrant pops of colour, all wrapped in rugged, playful construction.
Release Information
As of now, Nike and CPFM have yet to issue an official announcement regarding the release. However, industry insiders and leakers suggest all three versions of the Swamp Sponge Dunk are scheduled to drop in Autumn 2025, available via Nike SNKRS and selected high-tier retailers.
