Cecilie Bahnsen x ASICS Return with a Poetic Take on the GEL-Cumulus 16
Cecilie Bahnsen and ASICS once again blur the lines between high fashion and streetwear. The duo have unveiled a trio of GEL-Cumulus 16, carrying on a collaboration that began in 2022, and has become one of the most distinctive in the sneaker space.
A Closer Look…
Bahnsen’s latest offering brings her aesthetic of floral detailing, soft tonal colourways, and sheer overlays to the GEL-Cumulus 16. Arriving in Black, Glacier Grey, and Ivory, each pair delivers elegance with a technical twist.
All pairs share the same construction of lightweight mesh uppers decorated with subtle floral graphics. True to Bahnsen’s delicate designs, the lacelock near the tongue also gets a makeover, and is shaped like a flower, mirroring the romantic touch often seen in her runway pieces.
There’s no Cecilie branding on the upper, and there’s no need. Semi-translucent overlays wrap around the collar, heel and toe, adding a soft-focus effect. Classic ASICS Tiger Stripes sit on the midfoot, while GEL-Cumulus 16 logos appear at the collar and tongue. Underneath, a tonal Gel-cushioned midsole and outsole provide comfort and support.
