It’s another week, and that means another exciting release from Nike’s legendary Air Max 95 line. In 2025, the iconic silhouette marks its 30th anniversary—a major milestone that Nike is celebrating in style. Over the past few months, we’ve seen a range of standout Air Max 95 drops, from the return of classic OG colourways to bold new collaborations.
Next up in the anniversary line-up is a blast from the past: the Air Max 95 OG ‘Black Border’, originally released back in 1996.
Also known among fans as the ‘Emerald’, this striking edition features a timeless black and white upper, complemented by eye-catching emerald-blue accents on the tongue, heel, and Air units. While the 2025 version remains true to much of the original design, there is a subtle but noticeable update—the translucent Air bubbles have been replaced with vivid blue Air units, giving the shoe a slightly more modern edge.
Widely regarded as one of the best and rarest Air Max 95 colourways ever made, the ‘Black Border’ has earned near-legendary status over the years. Naturally, its return is generating plenty of buzz within the sneaker community.
Although the sneaker has already dropped at a few select retailers across Europe, the official Nike release is set for 11 July 2025.
