Ayo, ayo – it’s finally happening. Griselda’s very own Westside Gunn is stepping into the sneaker game, and he’s coming in hot. After teasing a partnership with Saucony back in late 2024, the rapper has officially unveiled his first sneaker: the Saucony Grid Jazz 9 ‘Scorpion’.
Unveiled during Paris Fashion Week, the bold silhouette is dressed head to toe in crimson and features a striking mix of textures – think reptile-style leather on the overlays and collar, plus a splash of faux fur on the mid-panel for that luxury feel. The traditional Saucony logo has been swapped out for a scorpion, a Griselda signature symbol that nods to seized goods and street grit.
This fiery drop won’t be the only one from Westside Gunn and Saucony. Earlier sketches show two more models in the works: the ProGrid Omni 9 and the ProGrid Triumph 4. The Omni 9 looks like a banger in red with lime green and black hits, while the Triumph 4 brings a colourful twist in blue, yellow, and red. Both keep the classic Saucony branding intact.
Gunn first teased the designs in October 2024 via Instagram, giving a shoutout to fellow rapper Jae Tips for paving the way with his own collab. It’s a full-circle moment, too. Gunn spoke about Jae Tips’ sneaker on The Complex Sneakers Show back in 2023, calling it the best of the year.
