New Balance may be best known for its classic retro runners, but true footwear experts know the brand’s reach goes far beyond nostalgic silhouettes. From the bold designs of the 2002R to the chunky appeal of the 9060, New Balance continues to evolve. Now, the brand’s sleek Allerdale walking shoe takes centre stage as it steps into collaboration for the very first time: partnering with none other than British menswear staple, Drake’s London.
Originally introduced in a trio of mainline colourways: two in leather and one in suede, the Allerdale is a nod to British heritage through and through. New Balance manufactures the shoe in Flimby, a town in England’s Cumbria region, and names it after the surrounding Allerdale district. The collaboration with Drake’s feels like a natural evolution for the silhouette, uniting two brands that both value craftsmanship and understated style.
Drake’s has been a staple in British menswear since 1977. It brings its sharp eye for fabric and detail to the Allerdale model. The result is a visually rich patchwork design, featuring a sophisticated blend of earthy tones and textures. Panels of smooth leather overlay a plush suede quarter, while a gridded synthetic tongue adds a touch of modernity.
The finishing touch? Dotted red laces that pay homage to Drake’s roots in tie-making.
The Drake’s London x New Balance Allerdale will arrive in Autumn 2025 and retail for approximately £200. This collaboration features thoughtful design and premium materials.
