AVAVAV x adidas Bring Absurdist Flair to Design Again this 2025
After launching its adidas partnership with the outrageous ‘Superfinger’, AVAVAV returns this May 2025 with another unmissable drop. This time, embracing distortion and drama with the ‘Monorubber’ and the ‘Superstar Modified’.
The ‘Monorubber’ takes cues from adidas’ Megaride, keeping its mesh upper and signature hexagonal bounce units, but radically inflates the sole into a glossy, cartoon-like structure. Part sneaker, part sculpture, its exact functionality remains a mystery.
Meanwhile, the ‘Superstar Modified’ keeps the core shell toe upper intact, but supersizes the sole for an oversized look. Available in an all black and a distressed off-white/red colourway, the design channels both minimalism and a retro sport charm.
The Drop
The AVAVAV x adidas ‘Moonrubber’ and ‘Superstar Modified’ release on May 22, 2025, exclusively via adidas’ CONFIRMED. The Moonrubber retails at £300, while the Superstar Modified is priced at £240.
