New Balance is at it again with a fresh drop in the 1906 line. After the buzz around the 1906L – a sneaker-loafer hybrid – the brand is back with the 1906M.
The 1906M comes with a distinct military influence, a nod to New Balance’s collaboration with the US Department of Defence back in 2018, where they designed the 950v2. That sneaker (created specifically for the military), featured a lightweight Fantomfit upper, and the 1906M builds on this technology to offer a sleek and supportive design.
A standout feature of 1906M is undoubtably its minimalistic approach. Unlike the 1906R, which comes with several layers of overlays, the 1906M takes things down a notch – flaunting a more two dimensional exterior without compromising on intricacy. Landing with progressive openwork cut-outs, the shoe’s Fantomfit structure allows for a lightweight feel and unique aesthetic.
However, for those who love the core elements of the 1906 series, fear not! Some signature details do remain perfectly intact. The TPU heel counter, leather toecap, and NLock lacing system are all present, providing the durability and snug fit that fans have come to expect from the 1906 lineup.
As of right now, the New Balance 1906M looks like it’ll be landing in 2025. Although no exact date has been confirmed yet, make sure to keep an eye on The Drop Date Release Calendar for the latest updates.
