The Comeback of Nike’s Iconic Air Safari OG
A masterpiece by Tinker Hatfield from 1987, the iconic Nike Air Safari OG making a comeback in 2024. Known for its unique Safari print, the sneaker was inspired by a sofa upholstered in ostrich leather seen in a New York furniture store. This distinctive print debuted in the Air Pack Collection, which included models like the Air Max 1 and the Air Trainer I.
The Safari print has moved beyond its sports roots to become a highly respected style in Nike’s history, especially popularised by Japanese boutique atmos in their 2002 Air Max 1 collaboration.

The 2024 Air Safari OG stays true to its original design with a classic colour palette of Black, Monarch, and Light Iron Ore. It features a base of black and orange leather, breathable perforations on the tongue, and the Monarch shade extending to the tongue branding and inner lining. Rounding off the design with a black-and-white midsole and a rubber outsole, the loud upper truly claims the spotlight.
Scheduled for release on 24TH JULY 2024, the Nike Air Safari (HM3818-001) will be available through the SNKRS APP & SELECT RETAILERS.
