Under Armour Puts its Stamp on the Balenciaga Speed Trainer & 3XL
In an unlikely partnership that not even a psychic could have seen coming, Balenciaga and Under Armour are joining forces for their first ever collaboration.
Now, this may come as a shock to some, and understandably so! Despite Under Armour’s long-standing position in the industry, the brand is typically paired with advanced sports apparel – and not necessarily associated with high-fashion runways and global stars like Kim Kardashian. However, as all we know by now, the realm of fashion loves an unlikely pairing, and so this alliance hits the nail on the head.
A Closer Look at the Balenciaga x Under Armour Collection…
After much speculation, the partnership finally came into fruition within Balenciaga’s latest Shanghai runway, showcasing a minimalist energy that honours the heritage of both collaborators. Despite some of the collection still remaining underwraps, we were definitely impressed by the stealthy apparel and futuristic accessories. But – there’s one aspect that’s particularly intriguing, being none other than a collaborative on the Speed Trainer and 3XL. Cultivating quite the mixed response on X (Twitter), let’s take a look at the imagery so far.
Keeping things streamlined, both collaborative offerings work atop predominantly black and white colourways. Showcasing a newly fashioned upper, the 3XL exudes a clean yet technical nature, whilst the classic Speed Trainer delivers a lifestyle steez. Adorned with distinctive co-branding commemorating his intriguing duo, a simple-yet-effective approach summarises these sleek kicks.
