ORIGINAL ARTICLE 16/05/24: Less than two months from now, the 2024 Olympic Games kick off in Paris. To celebrate, Nike’s dropping some fresh sneaker designs. Remember when they gave the classic Air Max 1 an Olympic makeover? Now, in May 2024, they’ve unveiled the first looks at an Air Jordan 4. But, It’s not just about the games – this year also marks 35 years since the silhouette first hit the streets.
The Olympics is one of the biggest sporting events in history, where athletes from all over the world show off their skills across a plethora of sports. This time, Paris is hosting the games, and an occasion so prevalent only means one thing. Fresh kicks. And that’s where Nike comes in, with a sleek Air Jordan 4 SE ‘Paris Olympics’ drop.
Drawing comparison to the iconic KAWS x Air Jordan 4 that dropped in 2017, the Air Jordan 4 SE ‘Paris Olympics’ similarly boasts an attractive grey persona (- with a handful of differences). Unlike the KAWS version, the iteration at hand skips the KAWS prints and XX branding on the heel, giving it its own flavour.
Built from top-notch nubuck leather and suede, the ‘Paris Olympics’ kicks stand out with speckled details on the wings. And what really catches the eye is the checkered pattern pressed into the suede, replacing the usual mesh panel on the sides, kinda like the Air Jordan 4 SE Craft look.
You can expect the sneaker around JULY 2024, just in time for the Olympic Games in Paris. Unfortunately, an exact release date isn’t known yet, so make sure to stay tuned by regularly checking The Drop Date Release Calendar.
