Get ready for a blast from the past, because Converse is throwing it back with the return of its most iconic sneaker: the Weapon. Originally hitting the courts in 1986, the Weapon was the go-to sneaker for NBA stars during the late ’80s and early ’90s. Now, after a series of successful collaborations and reinterpretations, Converse is reintroducing the Weapon and its low-cut counterpart, the Weapon Ox, just in time for the NBA’s All-Star Weekend in Indianapolis.
Converse is bringing back its classic silhouette in all its former glory. They’re staying true to the roots of this iconic sneaker with its original material composition and those familiar old-school colourways. Both models feature leather uppers, Star Chevron underlays, egret cup soles and outsoles, and the signature Y-bar that distinguished the collection.
And guess what? They’re also bringing back those timeless colourways we adore. The Ox appears in a ‘Vintage Black’ and ‘Vintage White’ colourway, while the High swaps these hues.
Leading the charge for the Weapon’s comeback is none other than NBA All-Star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. This man is bringing serious heat both on and off the court, and he’s the perfect fit to rep the Weapon’s legendary status.
Both styles of the Converse Weapon AVAILABLE NOW at CONVERSE STORES & SELECT RETAILERS. Take a peek at the banner below for stockists…
