Landing as the third endeavour between adidas Originals x Youth of Paris, the dynamic alliance are returning once again with a streamlined offering of apparel and footwear. Looking at the duo’s previous ventures, it’s clear that the 3-Stripes and Parisian fashion label are a match made in collaboration heaven. Formerly delivering innovative iterations of the adidas Campus 80s, the pair are now turning their attention to the Campus 00s and Adamatic silhouettes, alongside a refined tee and hoodie. Seamlessly implementing elements from both contributors, we reckon this capsule is due to make big waves within streetwear subculture. Read on to see what the hype is all about…
Kicking things off with the adidas Campus 00s – this nostalgic choice goes far beyond nice aesthetics. Innovation, as a part of adidas’ brand essence, has been an integral part of its DNA since the beginning. The retro model at hand is a great example of this. Upon release, the Campus 00s arrived as an updated reimagining of the Campus 80s; adjusted to resonate with a new audience at the turn of the millennium. The partnership between adidas Originals x Youth of Paris reframes the cult skate silhouette once again, implementing the label’s distinctive perspective to deliver a contemporary iteration. Flaunting a dark bulky exterior of smooth leather, ‘Solar Green’ hits illuminate the upper. Retro style and modern steez – it’s a foolproof recipe for a sneaker banger.
Next up is the adidas Adimatic. Recognised by OG skate enthusiasts as one of the greats, the old school model is pulled from the archives for an urban update. Arriving in a predominantly ‘Utilitarian Black’ palette, this collaborative offering utilises the dystopian artistry of Youth of Paris within its persona. Particularly evident within the eccentric stitching, faded tonal hues, and zig-zag midsole, this heritage-rich model exudes a distinctive edge that’s likely to resonate with the skaters of today. ‘Purple Rush’ accents flood the inner lining and branding, acting as the cherry on top to these dynamic creps.
As for assisting clothing, a T-shirt and hoodie, this is the first capsule whereby apparel has also been on offer (- and hopefully not the last!). Both boasting a mainly black outer, each product hosts a vibrant pop of colour which aligns with each sneaker.
