The ADIDAS ORIGINALS BC TRAINER SUMMER HOLIDAYS COLLECTION looks back over the 3-stripes’ enigmatic ‘Leisure and Island’ Series for this two-piece drop…
The archival ‘Leisure and Island’ Series from adidas evokes memories of new footwear bought for summer holidays, which is what size? aim to achieve here with two colourways of the BC TRAINER inspired by the Meran and Ibiza from the geographically inclined collection. Now sadly destroyed, the trainers are very unlikely to see a reissue, but their colourways are encapsulated here. First released way back in the ’70s, the Meran is named after an Alpine town in Italy’s South Tyrol region, which is translated to the BC Trainer with rich green suede uppers and a black rubber outsole nodding further to the original shoe. Secondly, the hedonistic Ibiza, also from the ‘70s, lands with tonal blue hues across its suede and leather uppers, with a black rubber midsole to boot.
