CONVERSE BREAKING DOWN BARRIERS PACK

The CONVERSE BREAKING DOWN BARRIERS PACK honours two NBA legends who made the league what it is today…

As part of the Breaking Down Barriers series, Converse is set to honour the careers of two NBA legends that are often overlooked. The first of the duo is a black, green and egret satin pair, which celebrates Earl “Big Cat” Lloyd, who became the first African American player to play in an NBA game on 31 October 1950, whilst the second arrives in rush blue, mandarin, and egret and pays homage to Nat “Sweetwater” Clifton, the first African American to sign an NBA contract when he signed with the Knicks in the summer of 1950. Each pair dons a satin upper as well as a special edition heel plaque marking the first time a different name has replaced Chuck Taylor’s on the iconic branding.
