Just in case you missed it the first time around, NIKE are celebrating the 30th birthday of one of its oldest and most prestigious silhouettes–the INTERNATIONALIST.

Nike brought the model up to speed by fitting it with a Lunar sole, as they have done with a number of archive pieces, but we’re definitely down with the OG. Unlike a lot of reissues from the Swoosh in recent years, this one returns in all its original glory: no faux yellowing on the sole, no exposed foam around the tongue and no strange material switcheroos. The nylon, mesh and suede is all as it should be–the fact that it’s genuine suede on the upper really shows Nike’s intent to bring it back in its first incarnation. Amongst the many retro running shoe on the market in 2014 this is right up there at the top; it’s THE classic long-distance build: lightweight upper, low-key panel design, high-rise back tab and the moulded heel cup with a flared sole to ease heel strike. Combine those looks with all the history it represents makes this a museum piece for your feet!

Urban Industry are currently leading the way with four makeups of the NIKE INTERNATIONALIST on offer and there is still a fierce ongoing dispute between us here at The Drop Date as to which is the strongest! What’s more is they’ve just dropped the price on them and there’s still a full UK size run on-site. Be sure to check out our in-depth review here if you need anymore convincing of the credentials of this great, great shoe. If not you can grab a pair directly via the link-through below.
