The NIKE AIR MAX PLUS GREEDY unites two of the classic TN colourways and adds the much-loved grid pattern on top, resulting in a harlequin-styled necksnapper. We took a pair out for a prowl around town to see if they feel as good as they look…
With the current renewed interest in the Air Max Plus, we hoped that there would be a few special editions to follow the re-release of the original Hyper Blue colourway from ’98 – and Nike did exactly that, with this Greedy three-way mix-up standing at the forefront. Due to the Tuned Air system firmly embedded within the sole unit, the Plus has become more commonly known as the TN: if you’re looking to make a statement with your feet, there’s nothing else quite like it.
Over the past 20 years, the Air Max Plus has dropped repeatedly in an incredible array of colourways and variations. Ask the serious collectors and aficionados for their favourites, and you’ll hear the same few colours mentioned again and again: Verema Green, the ‘Dracula’ and the two classics, the Hyper Blue and the Sunset (AKA the Tiger). Nike have taken those last two and combined them with the Grid pattern overlay, which first dropped in 2000. The resulting mash-up is a bright, disruptive edition of the shoe which continues the legacy of the TN perfectly.
