The current interest in early ’90s runners isn’t showing any sign of disappearing – and we at The Drop Date are more than happy to see it continue. With all of the brands digging deep through their archives to re-present various models from yesteryear, we’re now totally spoilt for choice with the variety of shapes and styles available.

The ADIDAS TECH SUPER fits nicely into this category. It’s a surprisingly light shoe but with a sturdy construction that keeps it in the ‘good-for-most-situations’ category, rather than purely for running use. There are more than enough sock-style models around at the moment, so it’s nice to see something a little more substantial for the traditional (ie. rainy) British summer weather.

The Tech Super fits alongside the recent re-release of the Torsion Allegra very nicely. They’re similar shoes, with similar intended purposes, but where the Torsion Allegra has gone for maximum street appeal by using speckled midsoles and camouflage detailing, the Tech Super confidently goes for some seasonal favourites. A lemon mesh keeps things upbeat on the lighter of the two colourways, whilst the black, white and purple scheme on the other is a bit more eyecatching. The suede, mesh and rubber construction is a familiar one, so you’re guaranteed the usual adidas running shoe comfort when you try these on.

Overall, the ADIDAS TECH SUPER is a basic model that does its job well and is likely to be a popular pick-up this summer. We’ve seen hints of some forthcoming colourways that look very nice, but in the meantime, whilst there’s still some stock left, they can be found via the link-throughs below.
