The NIKE AIR MAX 97 METALLIC GOLD is set to make a reappearance this week, so to whet your appetite further, we took these golden beauties out onto the streets to see how they looked on foot…
The Nike Air Max 97 was a neck-breaking release when it first dropped two decades ago. Christian Tresser’s pioneering design was inspired by Japan’s high-speed Bullet trains, with contours and curves that gave the shoe a true sense of movement. Whilst the shoe looked great in many of the colourways that followed the initial silver edition, the Metallic Gold edition is always going to be a highlight in the shoe’s history. It’s guaranteed to turn the heads of even the most reserved footwear aficionados.
The Metallic Gold upper features reflective 3M panel overlays, with Team Red detailing to contrast against the white midsole and black outsole perfectly. The Air unit window continues the sleek look of the uppers perfectly, adding that classic Air Max detail that we’ve loved since the original Air Max 1. The silver edition proved popular when it dropped earlier this year, but we’re expecting big things from this one as well.
